Companion Animals and Pets

Emotional Freedom Techniques are a powerful somatic tool to use on animals to support them to feel more calm

Pets and companion animals are an important part of the family. When we experience hardship including domestic and family violence our pets are not only there to support us, but experience the hardship themselves. Often people make the difficult decision to stay in an unhealthy or unsafe relationship so they are able to keep their animals safe and with them.

Regardless of what has or is happening in your home, our animals feel what is happening. They feel what we are feeling and they are deeply invested in making things better. They hold our stress for us, hoping to take it off our shoulders.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as tapping has been shown to support animals of all kinds to feel calmer. Depending on the needs of your animal, we might be able to physically touch them, or just tap while their around. They are so deeply connected to us that both will have a calming and supportive impact on them.

My dog Rilla loves some of the around the eye tapping points, as well as the more common spinal points that we target for animals. Together we can explore the needs of the animals in your life, explore what they might enjoy and adjust the appllication of EFT to meet their needs.
